5 Foods to avoid during pregnancy
Pregnancy is a miracle and one of the most sensitive times in a woman’s life. Having a healthy diet, proper rest, stress free time and staying happy is so important because everything you feel will affect your baby inside your womb. If you are happy and eat a balanced diet, it will help your baby and you will have a healthy and strong baby. Moms who smoke, eat junk foods and don’t take care of their health during pregnancy give birth to babies with low immunity. So choice is yours!
Here is a list of 5 foods to avoid during your pregnancy.
There are so many things you shouldn’t do while pregnant but right now we will talk about just foods. I remember when I was pregnant for the first time, around 10 years back, my mother used to tell me about all that stuff that I am writing down now. It helped me a lot. I want to share this so that every pregnant woman out there can get help and take care of herself and her baby.
Don’t forget to share it with your friends and family 😊
HIGH MERCURY FISH
We all know that mercury is toxic. It can affect your nervous system, kidneys and immunity in bad ways. Polluted seas are high in mercury so marine fish is high in mercury and thus not good for your pregnant body. It’s advised to keep the intake of fish from 1 to 2 servings per month.
You must avoid too much intake of these fish types:
- I want my son to learn that Romance is not always fancy!
- What Fathers want on Father’s day-It’s not expensive
- Wedding day checklist for Brides-Free printable
- My husband is my best team partner
- I am a mommy who thinks her husband comes first!
UNDERCOOKED/ PROCESSED/ RAW MEAT
Having undercooked meat is one of the foods to avoid during pregnancy as it may increase the risk of bacterial infection. You definitely don’t want that if you are pregnant as anything that affects you will affect your unborn baby too. In some cases, eating undercooked food resulted in still birth and epilepsy. The reason being when you cook the meat from outside, the bacteria may stay inside the meat that’s not cooked properly. Rib eye, Sirloins and Tenderloins from veal and lamb are safe to consume but properly cooked.
Eating raw eggs can give you salmonella infections that’s not good for your baby growing inside you. You may feel cramps, vomiting, diarrhoea and fever after having an infection. So its better to be safe and not eat raw eggs. Avoid these during your pregnancy:
Cake icings made from raw eggs
Slightly scrambled eggs
Mayonnaise that contain raw eggs
Egg salad dressing

TOO MUCH CAFFEINE
When you are pregnant, you have to control your caffeine intake. Be it in the form of tea, coffee, sodas, cocoa, or anything else that is caffeinated. It’s not good for your placenta and baby. It’s suggested to keep the coffee intake from 2 to 3 cups a day or even lesser.
UNPASTEURIZED CHEESE AND MILK
Raw milk contains Salmonella, E.coli, Campylobacter and Listeria. These bacteria may cause life threatening infections that may prove fatal for your baby as well as for you. Pasteurization is an effective way to kill any of these bacteria types without harming the nutritional value of dairy products.
So these were the foods you must avoid during pregnancy. Apart from that, too much sugar, junk food, smoking or drinking should be stopped too. It’s best to have a healthy diet because everyone wants a healthy baby and to get that, you have to work a little harder. Children come first!
